Free GED Program Available at TTC Downtown Palmer Campus

Charleston County Adult Education provides the following free services at the Trident Technical College Palmer Campus:
  • GED Classes
  • Accuplacer Test Preparation
  •  WorkKeys Test Preparation
  • WorkKeys Testing on Site
  • Career Counseling
  •  GED Ready Practice Testing on Site
  • Resume Writing

Pam Kusmider, coordinator of the program commented, "Having GED Classes at the Trident Technical College Palmer Campus is especially important to me because I've lived in downtown Charleston for over thirty years. Our GED students are the parents of children in our public schools. Educating our parents is the key to changing the lives of our student's families. Many of our students will be first generation high school graduates, who will then begin college. Education is the key towards breaking the cycle of inter-generational poverty. I feel lucky to be a part of that process. I am grateful to Dr. Lou Robinson and her staff for making our students feel welcomed and a true part of the Palmer family."
The TTC Palmer Campus waives the $30 application fee for all Adult Education Students. This allows students to easily transfer from GED students to becoming TTC students. Students are provided a TTC Palmer Campus ID which allows students access to the computers in the Student Success Center. Once students pass the GED exam and earn their State of South Carolina High school Equivalency diploma, students meet with an EOC advisor to process financial aid forms to ensure students have minimal to no cost when attending college. Also, students are invited to College Fairs offered at the Palmer Campus.

Registration for the next session begins on Tuesday, December 11 and Thursday, December 13th at 6 p.m. in room 152. Attendance is mandatory both nights. Please be on time. Classes will begin on Wednesday, January 9, 2019

For more information on the next session, call Pam Kusmider at 843-746-6504.
